Vacation money

Payment of vacation money from last year:

  • will be paid out the year after (first payment period i June)

Exceptions for payment of vacation money from last year:

  • When you having your main vacation before June (this means, when you are having 3 weeks vacation in March, you can get paid out 3 weeks of vacation money in February/March, the rest will be paid out in June)
  • When you haven’t been in an assignment for Stolt for a long time (more than 8 weeks)
  • When you have been sick for a long time (more than 8 weeks)
  • When you stop working for Stolt.

For all these exceptions, except when you are stop working for Stolt, you have to fill out a form. The form you can get at the office or here on Stolt’ website. After you have filled out this form and deliver it, the application will be processed. If the application is approved, payment of vacation money/advance will be paid out on the first coming payment period (watch out for the deadline) or on a later payment period according your application. The first possibility to get paid out vacation money/advance in a new year is the second period in January (see overview deadlines/payment days).

This also counts for payment of vacation money which is earned  this year, and you want to have it paid out in the same year. When vacation money is paid out in the same year you have earned it, there must be always deducted taxes.

Remember also that many people think that vacation money which is paid out the year after is taxfree. This is not correct. Vacation money is not taxfree. Vacation money will be paid out temporarily taxfree, but at the end of the year it is a part of your income anyway and you pay taxes over your vacation money too. So if you are stopping working for Stolt, vacation money from last year and this year (sluttoppgjør) will be paid out on the first payment period after you last working day.
